Programme Name: Global Perspectives in Medical Science: HKU-KCL Collaborative Programme
Description:
This course examines the relationship between human physiology, anatomy and various medical conditions. Students will gain knowledge about the functioning of the cardiovascular, pulmonary, musculoskeletal and neuroendocrine systems, as well as diagnostic procedures, treatments, and medical emergencies.
Learning Objectives:
- Experience a variety of learning activities typical of first-year undergraduate study
- Build relevant knowledge to support future study in the field of Biomedical and Life Sciences
- Carry out independent research on a given topic
- Work collaboratively in diverse groups to give a presentation on a specific learning topic
Assessment: The assessment is designed to reflect students’ performance on university-level assignments. Feedback from tutors will allow students to see how well they have performed and where they can improve. Upon completion of the programme and course assignments, students will receive a certificate of attendance jointly issued by HKU and KCL.
- Programme Duration: July 11 – 20, 2024 (10 days)
- Programme Period: July 11 – 13, 2024 at HKU & July 15 – 19, 2024 at KCL
- Target Audience: Academically high achieving Year 12 and 13 high school students (Secondary 5 – 6) between the ages of 16 – 17
- Group Size: 10 students, approx.
- Tuition Fees: HKD 55,000* (HKD49,500* - 10% discount available for HKU Academy for the Talented members)
- Comprising lectures, social activities, well-being and sports programmes, as well as accommodation with breakfast (additional charges may apply).

This course for high school students explores topics in international business, marketing, and management. Academic courses from both institutions develop students' skills in marketing, finance, operations, and management. The programme also offers tailored social and cultural activities and empowers students to create their own business strategies.

* The programme fee includes tuition, accommodation in London, some meals during the coursework period, course materials, field trips, a welcome kit, and transportation from the airport to accommodation in London for those who choose the recommended flights.
* Please note that the programme fee does not include flights and accommodation in Hong Kong. Applicants are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from their home country, as well as transportation between London and Hong Kong.
