*The programme fee will cover transportation, meal, residence and insurance arrangements, but will not cover personal consumption expenses.

Eligibility:  

(1) S4-S5 Member

(2) Possessor of (a) HKID Card and (b) Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents which are valid and effective at both the date of the application and the programme dates. (Applicants are required to submit copies of the two said documents showing the effective dates.)

Selection and Result Announcement: All applications will be assessed according to applicants’ individual calibre and potential. Application results and payment details will be announced to successful applicants via email.

Programme Information:

Nansha is the geographic centre of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (“GBA”) and is known as the "Heart of the GBA". During the programme, you will have the opportunity to visit Nansha GBA Development and Exhibition Center, AI and Big Data research institute, the production line of a well-known international vehicle brand, as well as the facilities specifically set up for Hong Kong and international young entrepreneurs and talents. Students will also be able to participate in exchanges with local students and young entrepreneurs. There will also be guided tours to the well-known sites of Nansha. The visit will give participants an in-depth understanding of the development and prospects of Nansha and a better idea of the concept of the GBA development plan, allowing students to have more informed planning for future study and work.

*The University China Study Society (UCSS) is a non-profitable organisation founded by a group of Hong Kong university students and graduates who share the same vision.

In order to cultivate young leaders with a sense of social responsibility, UCSS is dedicated to the objective of "enshrining the youth's talent, responding to the society's needs, and contributing to the country's development".

I. Objectives:

1. Understand Nansha's current development status and future development plans: Students will visit Nansha Port, Nansha New District, and Nansha Free Trade Zone to understand Nansha's development status and future development plans in ports, industries, and free trade. This will enhance students' understanding and awareness of Nansha.

2. Enhance students' practical abilities and comprehensive qualities: Through visits and exchanges, students will understand the operation and management of enterprises, and improve their practical abilities and comprehensive qualities.

3. Promote communication and cooperation between students and enterprises: Students will communicate and visit enterprises in Nansha to understand their development status and future development plans. This will help establish contacts and cooperation between students and enterprises.

4. Expand students' horizons and international thinking: Students will understand Nansha's current development status and future development plans in international trade and free trade, and expand their horizons and international thinking.

II. Contents

1. Visit Nansha Port: Students will visit Nansha Port's container terminal, multimodal transportation center, and port logistics park to understand Nansha Port's development status, business operations, and future development plans. Students will visit the modern facilities of Nansha Port to understand its operation and management.

2. Visit Nansha New District: Students will visit Nansha New District's industrial park, financial center, and business district to understand Nansha New District's development status and future development plans in industries, finance, and business. Students will learn about Nansha New District's investment environment, industry policies, and industry development direction.

3. Visit Nansha Free Trade Zone: Students will visit Nansha Free Trade Zone's free trade port area, free trade zone, and free trade experimental zone to understand its development status and future development plans. Students will learn about Nansha Free Trade Zone's free trade policies, free trade models, and free trade advantages.

4. Communicate and visit enterprises in Nansha: Students will communicate and visit enterprises in Nansha to understand their development status and future development plans. Students will learn about their products, services, and management models, and gain a deeper understanding of their operation and management.

Students who have completed the programme will receive a printed participation certificate.

 

*A message from the National Immigration Administration:

Under an Official Notice dated 28 April 2023, for the Permits expiring from 1 January  2020 to 30 December 2023, the expiry dates of such Permits would be extended to 31 December 2023. (Please refer to https://www.nia.gov.cn/n741440/n741542/c1577893/content.html). We will consider as valid following the government updated arrangement. Students are still required to provide a copy of their Permit during the submission of their applications.

*It is our firm belief that no student should be denied admission due to financial difficulties. Grant is available for students who can provide supporting documents issued by the Student Finance Office for receiving a full grant of Student Textbook Assistance Scheme or documents from the Social Welfare Department for obtaining CSSA.
