Description:

This is a 5-day programme designed for S4 – S5 secondary school students to explore their potentials and interests in medical and health sciences professions. The programme will enable students to gain insight into their career prospects and allow them to interact with Faculty members and leading experts. Students will also have chances to intermingle with current students from medical and related disciplines and learn more about university life at HKU.

Course Outline:

This programme consists of a wide range of learning activities to enhance students’ understanding of medical, and health sciences topics through lectures, interactive workshops, laboratory practical sessions. We aim to demonstrate the diversity of expertise and specialties through a hands-on approach and tertiary learning experience. Students will have a chance to understand global health issues, form discussion groups and solve respective problems from different perspectives of various healthcare professional roles.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain insight into career prospects in medical and health sciences professions
  • Interact with faculty members and leading experts in the field
  • Interact with current students from medical and related disciplines
  • Enhance understanding of medical and health sciences topics through lectures, workshops, and laboratory practical sessions
  • Experience a hands-on approach to learning
  • Understand global health issues
  • Form discussion groups to problem-solve from different perspectives of healthcare professional roles.

Selection and Result Announcement: All applications will be assessed according to applicants’ individual calibre and potential. Application results and payment details will be announced to successful applicants via email.
