Description:

The HKU Business School has meticulously developed a comprehensive four-day programme, meticulously tailored to offer secondary school students a vibrant and enriching experience in the esteemed company of faculty members and fellow students, all taking place during the summer.

The programme comprises a series of engaging lectures delivered by esteemed instructors from the HKU Business School, as well as invaluable opportunities for students to interact with current business students. These interactions serve as a platform for the fruitful exchange of ideas and experiences. The programme delves into various key areas, including accounting, business innovation, economics and finance, as well as business strategy and management, with a keen emphasis on their practical applications within the ever-evolving business landscape of today. As the programme draws to a close, students will have the opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial prowess in a thrilling startup pitch competition, where they can passionately present their business ideas to faculty members, vying for their esteemed "investment".

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain exposure to fundamental business concepts such as accounting, business innovation, economics and finance, as well as business strategy and management.
  • Develop an understanding of the practical applications of these concepts within the context of modern business.
  • Foster critical thinking skills by engaging in interactive discussions with esteemed faculty members and current business students.
  • Enhance communication and presentation skills through participation in the startup pitch competition.
  • Build confidence and leadership skills by actively engaging in group activities and presentations.
  • Develop an appreciation for the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in today's business world. 

Selection and Result Announcement: All applications will be assessed according to applicants’ individual calibre and potential. Application results and payment details will be announced to successful applicants via email.

*It is our firm belief that no student should be denied admission due to financial difficulties. Grant is available for students who can provide supporting documents issued by the Student Finance Office for receiving a full grant of Student Textbook Assistance Scheme or documents from the Social Welfare Department for obtaining CSSA. To apply, please select the specific programme on the system accordingly.
