Activity Overview:
Immerse yourself in one of Hong Kong’s most beloved traditions—hiking through the city’s stunning natural landscapes. This adventure offers a unique opportunity to step away from the lecture hall and into the wild, right from our own backyard.

  • The Trailhead at Your Doorstep: Conquer the scenic Lung Fu Shan trail, starting conveniently from the HKU campus.

  • Urban Jungle Exploration: Discover hidden greenery and historic landmarks tucked away amidst the city’s iconic skyline.

  • Summit Views: Challenge yourself with a steady climb that rewards you with breathtaking, panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and beyond.

  • Community Bonding: Build lasting connections with your classmates as you navigate the path together.

  • Cultural Immersion: Experience firsthand why hiking is a cornerstone of Hong Kong’s vibrant outdoor culture.

Activity Fee: Free of charge (Non-refundable application fee: HKD100)
Activity Time: 6:30-8:30pm HKT
Activity Venue: HKU to the Peak
Meeting Point: Outside of HKU Main Building

the HKU Academy for the Talented Summer Programme at the same time as this activity.

2. Select <Apply Now> under 2026 Application.
3. At <Programme Selection> add programme code. 
4. Select <Confirm & Submit>

Terms & Conditions:

  1. HKU Academy for the Talented (HKU AcT) reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event upon inclement weather conditions or if the Education Bureau of Hong Kong announces a suspension of schools.
  2. Places for each activity are limited and allocated on a first‑come, first‑served basis or according to selection criteria set by the HKU AcT. Submission of an application does not guarantee a place. The activity is subject to cancellation if there are insufficient applications.
  3. All students need to have valid travel and medical insurance as a mandatory condition for participation in our activities. HKU AcT shall not be held liable for any medical expenses incurred by participants, nor the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings.
  4. HKU AcT reserves the right to take photographs and video recordings during the event for promotional and archival purposes.
  5. All HKU AcT events are non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable and not for re-sale. In the event of disputes regarding these terms and conditions, HKU AcT reserves the right to make final judgment on the dispute.
