Where brilliance takes flight

Calligraphy Workshop

Activity Overview:
Unlock your creativity and find your inner zen in this unique cultural fusion workshop. In a special collaboration with the Calligraphy Society, Cultural Association, HKU, we invite you to step away from the digital screen and immerse yourself in the tactile world of traditional ink and Pindou (also known as pixel bead art).

Master the fundamental techniques of Chinese calligraphy. From holding the brush to controlling ink flow, you’ll learn how to transform characters into expressive works of art.

Explore the intricate world of Pindou, a form of handicraft using small plastic fuse beads, the hobby involves arranging the beads into patterns and fusing them with heat where vibrant beans are used to create stunning, textured mosaics. It’s a test of patience, precision and color theory.
