Dr. Henry Lau

Associate Professor, Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, HKU

Henry Lau graduated from the University of Oxford with a bachelor degree in Engineering Science and a DPhil in Robotics. Prior to joining The University of Hong Kong, he worked in industry as a Systems Engineer and Manager at the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and AEA Technology plc., working on projects involving bespoke tele-robotics systems and advanced automation systems for industry in decommissioning and waste management. While working in England, Henry was a Croucher Foundation Research Fellow at the University of Oxford Robotics Research Group, and a visiting lecturer at Brasenose college, Oxford teaching Engineering Science. Henry’s research interest includes virtual reality technology, artificial intelligence and robotics. Henry is also the Warden of University Hall at HKU.

Mr. Angus Tong

Account Technology Strategist, Microsoft Hong Kong Limited

As an Account Technology Strategist in Microsoft Hong Kong, Angus Tong has a strong technical background with experience in solutions development and deployment in Cloud Platform and Data & AI. He advised over hundred commercial partners and currently advises the public sector (including HK Government, K12 schools and universities) on Cloud adoption. Angus also works closely with researchers and data scientists in different domains.
Angus graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), System Engineering and Engineering Management.

Dr. Leith Chan

Founder and Director, HACTIS Limited

Leith Chan has been conducting research in Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality since 1995. He received his MMath in Computer Science and PhD in Engineering from University of Waterloo and the University of Hong Kong. He has led the HKU team to win the ICT Silver Award 2015 (Best Digital Entertainment Award). Afterward, he turned his research of imseCAVE into commercial product and co-found the HACTIS Limited, a TISSUE awarded and Cyberport incubated company, with the vision of providing the best bespoken VR solution.

Mr. Venant Chiang

Vice Chairman, Investment Committee specialising in HealthTech, Smart City Consortium

Venant was the member of Expert Committee of the 3rd China College Students “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition held by various departments under the Central Government. For the last twenty years, he has actively involved in the financial market as senior research analyst participating in various IPOs, fund manager as well as the SFC regulator. He is also the Vice President for Hong Kong Spirit Charity Sports Association primarily supporting the youth development. He was graduated from UCLA in Business Economics and Specialisation in Computing.
