Programme Overview:
Today’s business environment is increasingly digital, complex, and uncertain. Rapid technological advancement, innovation across industries, social and cultural shifts, and business disruptions are constantly reshaping markets and eroding traditional competitive advantages. As a result, business leaders must continuously re-evaluate their assumptions and strategies. Approaching uncertainty across multiple dimensions—especially through the lens of digitalization and digital transformation—can help organizations identify new opportunities and adapt proactively, rather than risk discovering too late that their traditional business model is no longer relevant.
This course will be predominantly hands-on, where the participants are expected to pre-read the course materials to gain an understanding of the topics at hand before the course starts. There will be a short introduction to the key topics and focus each day before the hands-on work commences. Participants will work in teams and work towards a final presentation on transforming a traditional business to one that is “digital”, user-centric and sustainable that shapes the future.
Learning Objectives:
The objective of this course is two-fold. The first is focus on understanding the factors that are putting pressure on companies to build a business model that is both future ready and sustainable. The second is to look at how to apply business strategy in an uncertain and complex future.
In this course, we will be covering the following:
* The nature of SMEs and their challenges
* Key drivers for being agile and responsive to changing needs and markets
* Business strategies and business models
* Understanding “uncertainties” and how to formulate strategies around them
* Using well-known frameworks like design thinking, PEST, SWOT, and Porter’s 5-Forces, to assess capabilities and operating environment, and
