Summer Programmes 2020
The Summer Institute offers over 30 programmes across a wide variety of HKU disciplines for Academy members to explore their interests over the summer. Members are eligible for priority consideration by simply providing their Academy membership number during the registration process. Priority consideration for Academy members also applies to events and activities arranged by the University’s admissions office.
The Academy also extends exclusive opportunities for members to receive scholarships or subsidies towards their fees for summer programmes.
HKU Academy's Academic Excellence Scholarships for HKU Summer Programmes is now open for application. If you are interested, please fill in the form by 6 January 2020 23:59 HKT. If your application is successful, you will receive either a full or partial scholarship, as well as a guaranteed admission to the summer programme which the scholarship offers (except Teenage Orthopod Scheme which interview is required).
Another privilege is that, your application fee for summer programme will be waived, if you receive the scholarships from the Academy scheme. Therefore, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY ON SUMMER INSTITUTE WEBSITE DIRECTLY. No REFUND will be made.
The scholarship applications will be reviewed, and only limited applications will be shortlisted. The scholarship application result will be announced by late Feb 2020.
Should your scholarship application be unsuccessful, you may still apply to the Summer programmes with priority consideration given by the HKU Summer Institute if you apply for the summer programme by 1 March 2020. Application fee will not be waived in this case.

“I’m honoured to receive the award and represent my school. The opportunity will allow me to integrate myself into the HKU campus and truly experience the life of a medical student. The privilege has solidified my determination to get into HKU’s medical school.”
